I like the thought of a spoof documentary but at some point you've got to realise that if you want to have any kind of success, be it monetary, critically, whatever, you have to make things that your audience will enjoy. Not just make things for your own amusement that you and your friends can look back on and laugh at yourselves because you're just SO funny.

One of these days I'll get to see your videos. It seems every computer I'm ever on isn't able to download video. Which is why I never respond to anyones video clips. I'm not up to date on my digital technology. My computer is obsolete.

But due to the intense reactions your videos get -I am curious. My expectations aren't exactly high, but if your stuff is complete crap, people probably wouldn't even waste their time responding.

People seem to post remarks designed to discourage you. That says something.

But if it's just shock value - I'm not interested.

My guess is your stuff probably has better production value than most of the clips posted here. But your substance is probably lacking. So people post their criticism, but you dont allow it to affect you.

You show confidence and resilence and it pisses people off.

But I'm just guessing.

Yeah, you are just guessing. You have nothing whatsoever to base your statements on. Why not wait until you see them until you start critiqueing our critiques.

And I never write things to discourage, I said I like the idea of spoof documentary, I just don't like the self-satisfied way they have done it. Film is all about listening and learning, I'm trying to give them some relevant criticisms so they can make their short films better.

gwe i'd like to say that some of the stuff you have said we have also noticed but i kinda find it funny to post stuff up now.

having looked back at the last three films i posted the response wasn't actually that bad, it was just when we incited people that the hatred flowed!

in terms of self satisfaction i'm not sure how that is portrayed, i find it funny indeed but why would i make a spoof comedy documentary that i didn't find funny?

finally about the extra montage after the text, this is basically the opening to the documentary and then i thought well if i add a coming soon tag to the end i can post it up here, pretend it's a trailer and news of the doc can get moving around (however small the circles maybe)
we haven't even shot anything for the doc yet as the footage used is simply from the music video shoot where 'Mikey Mik-Mak' (the best and most thought our name ever, or is it???) shoots himself through the head.

I didn't have much to do with this trailer, so i wont go on. Just seems that people criticised your response for being a little dismissive to me. (thats just how it reads). I'm not sure how funny it is or will be, it wasn't an idea that came from either of us, but from a writer we know who plays mikey mik mak. We make these little things because so many of our fans want to see them, and they're relatively easy to do whilst working on bigger projects. Its just a bit of fun, but I must say, it's not for us. Its because people expect that of us. I thought the "if you ever wanna make money" thing was perhaps a little unfair, since last may, our video work has made us a surprisingly large amount of money, which is why we can afford to take a bit of time off to make silly little things like the doc. Hope that makes sense. Just thought i should make some input. Sorry
